In practice, every competition has a lot of crashes. Some trucks are going crushed by others. And always we can see at this competitions a lot of dirt (or snow), fun "drift" ( ) of huge machines and stench of exhaust gases

HOTWRENCH

Сompletely agree, ZIL 130 have an collective image of american tracks of that time. But it is more plus of this car because the shape has turned out beautiful.

Thus the design is imposed for the big sizes of a car ( 2.20 m width of a cabin )

Some words about ZIL 130 Stock Engine

V8 6.0
Compression 7,1:1
150 hp/3200rpm
402 nm/1800-2000 rpm
weight 490 kg

This engine also available in 7.0 liters

Some photos

Yes, Zil 130/131 trucks are very popular all over the world =)

Thanks =)

By the way, there was a question. Whether there were american trucks with the sizes of a cabin as at Zil 130 (and with similar design)?

Copying of design and design decisions took root to factories from the country leaders. Unfortunately...

But in Russia always there were talented designers and artists. Many projects were closed at the earliest stages.

But it is the fact that the design school of the Soviet car factories has come from USA . The first big russian car factory was built with the help of Ford and the first products of "GAZ" factory was license ford cars.

So, Thank you mr. Henry Ford =)

I can't imagine a truck that size getting that much air. That must be fun to watch or even to drive in. Thanks drbroman and welcome to FTE. I am looking forward to reading your posts.

I think you mean American Trucks? If so we would need the with of the frame you would use to start with. Or are you wanting to put the Zil on an American frame?

It would be interesting to me to learn a little about the American trucks in the sizes like Zil 130.

It is very interesting for me - learning design of American analogs
