My whole exaust is about rotted out(120K+) The muffler is about to fall off.
I will want a quiet muffler system.
Assuming the original replacement muffler would be the quietest that would be my first choice
1-Are there less expensive "original replacement mufflers" or do you get what you pay for?
2- Adding a transverse muffler ( behind the axle) works well ,I think.
3- Would a "orig muffler followed by a resonator be a quiet choice?
I dunno,just some of my thoughts

What do those of you with experience finding a quiet system think?

 

I was thinking you might need to quiet down a performance exhaust. I was going to recommend adding a resonator. Idk anything about stock though.

 

thanks for reminding me. I now recall I removed a resonator on another car years ago because it was too quiet. I only removed one resonator (dual exaust) and it brought the volume up. Sounds kinda like the rumble an inboard makes when sitting in water and one is standing at the back where the exaust jet is.
Ill try adding a resonator then.

 

Have you double checked to be sure you don't have a broken muffler? Mine was broken when I took it off.
