Rear-Gate moaning and groaning.........

07 EL..........My rear gate lift-acuator moans and groans, pretty nasty sounding. I ran it down to the top attachment point. Lubed the piviot on the plunger and the post it mounts on with no luck. Anybody had this problem??
Thanks,
Jimbo

Try it with the truck running and see if you have the same noise. It's possible that your battery is weak or failing. There was a similar post and the battery turned out to be bad.

My automatic opener/closer would moan and groan while in the closing operation, it got louder if it was hotter outside. Dealer replaced the open/close motor and and black arm thing under warranty no problems since.

I can grab the top mount and it shuts-up. I can feel the noise. The temp. does seem to affect it tho....With no-load it makes no noise. Really wierd.

Mine makes the noise intermittently about 20 % of the time. Only moans on the close, not the open.
