Red face Cruise Control Problem/1992 F250 4X4 S-Duty LB

I have to push brake pedal twice to disengage cruise control is there a fix for this? Or a recall? I just bought this P.U. recently so I don't know the history of said Truck. I am new to forums, not new to vehicle repair.
I would appreciate any info. Thank You.

Yes, there is a recall on the cruise control......take it to the dealer and give em your vin number, they can tell you for sure if the recall has not been done to it.

The cruise control recall was for '93 and above trucks. The '92 and below do not use the same type of cruise de-activation switch as the '93 and above that are prone to causing fires.

My '92 F350 takes a pretty good push on the brake pedal to get the brake light to come on as well as deactivate the cruise. The brake on/off (BOO) switch is a goofy setup. I replaced that as well with no real improvement in the response to pushing on the brake pedal.

Thank you. Sounds like the same problem. It will be a good place to start.
Thanks

I have installed cruise control on my 1992 F250 HD O/8600LBS.

What I am getting is it works but, it drops down 5 miles an hour before kicking the speed back up. What might be the cause?
