f-250 power window problem

The drivers door power window went down and will not come up. Am I looking for a problem with the switch, or in the motor itself. Any secrets as to getting the door panels off with ruining the snaps. This is on a 97 F-250 7.3.

It has been my experience that it is pretty hard not to ruin at lest some of the snap fasteners that hold the door panel on.
You can get new ones fairly cheap right at the dealer or at one of the chain auto parts stores in their "Help!" section.
Unless someone out there knows a trick that I am not aware of.......

one of those long flat pry bars (maybe it's called a wonder bar) works for me. Just get it under there as close to the snap fastener as possible and pop them out. I changed one of the rear window motors because of this. Now it only refuses to go up or down SOME of the time :-)

There is an apholstry tool that is made to remove those clips, it makes it much easier.

If it went down but not back up, it is probably the motor itself.

I have seen plastic pry bars made to take them off without hurting anything...

I need to figure out my window/doorlock problems. My two rear windows won't go up or down and only 3 doors work with the electric locks.

if its like mine its the switch. my driver side switch's would just stop working for a few hours or a day and then work just fine for two or three weeks then do it again. i finally replaced the switch and everything is good. if not then it could be the motor. if you dont know which it is i'd try switch's first cuz there cheaper.
