Ok here is some vids of the Gibson exhaust. Not a great sound clip off camera but best I have right now. Here are my thoughts after about 50 miles of driving.
PROs:
Got to admit I really did not want the loudness or drone of a typical cat back but in typical fashion the Gibson muffler is very quiet at idle and driving. Windows down maybe a 10-15% increase in sound that’s all. With windows up just a slight rumble and no drone. The truck seems to like the free flowing muffler as its easier to rev and more rev happy. And it’s probably too soon to tell but I think the trucks lie o meter likes the free flowing muffler as well, mileage output seemed to be up a tad. Overall it fits well and the hangers line up to the stock locations just fine. When installing one of these kits I do recommend using a lift to pull the factory stock one out with out cutting it into pieces, never know when you might want to return it to stock.
CONs:
If your looking for a loud exhaust this is not the one to get. Maybe it will increase a little with some more miles and time. The kit came with standard U bolt clamps and I would rather have the better easy seal clamps that clamp and seal all at once. Also the tail pipe could also be extended back more towards the bumper instead of exiting just behind the mud flap. Not really a con but the stock tailpipe is 3 ½ dia from end of muffler out up stream its 3 inches and the Gibson uses a 3 inch tail pipe with a 3 ½ chrome tip.
Here is pics of stock muffler assembly.
