Might buy a Motorcraft block

My 97 F150 needs a new motor... rebuilding seems the cheapest by far... I was looking over the motorcraft website, and they sell a "bare block" for less than 400, what does this all come with? im assuming the block, but what about crank, pistons?

"Bare block" means just that, block only........no rotating assembly at all.

Exactly what BlueOvalFitter said, you'll have to add bearings, rotating assembly, etc. As long as the crank and rods are ok, I would just get the engine bored, get the crank checked out, and rebuild it.

THOught about seems more economical to buy a short block from Ford. The short block has the rotating assembly and is 800, figured I would plane the heads, new gasket set, new sensors as needed, etc and throw my top end on
