99 F250 rear SC door stuck closed

Seems as though the upper rear latch on the little rear door is stuck shut. The door handle only opens the bottom latch, both inside and door jam handles tried. Anyone had this problem. Tried search with no relevant results. Thanks, Greg

Mine has stuck a time or two after off-road body flexing. I found that pushing inward on the door at the top would free it. Pulling out would not free it, but pushing inward while pulling the door handle popped it loose. Once you get it loose a little lube on the latch should fix it.

I had the problem with the lower latch. Rusted in the closed position. Had to use a pry bar to get it opened.

Keep all the latches well lubed. I used a grease gun with a pinpoint adapter to get the grease well into the pivot points.

Could be the linkage came apart. I have a few threads in here about this. Do a search for rear door and I am sure you will find a thread with the instructions on how to get to the latch mechanism when it is closed. Then you can remove the door panel and trim and get it fixed.
