1975 F-250 re-re-build

Hey, I have been looking around this forum for a few years now looking at people project and decide it would be a good time to post my own. I started this truck when I was 16 with my father. Got it running good and collected lots of parts, now its time to make it look pretty. I recently started stripping it down and will be paint the frame soon, i will post some pictures as the process goes on. hope you enjoy it. The truck is a 1975 F-250 4x4 with a 300 L6 thats bored over to 318 with some pretty looking performance stuff.

(after the vashon mudbogs)... wont be doing that again

Well I have been working away at my truck in my free time... Going to college and working. Got my frame rear axle and T case painted and installed. going to have to take out the T case and put some different washers on the mounts.
I have been using all POR 15 products for the frame and axles so far, going to do the engine next

front axle almost ready for paint

rear axle painted

test fitting my new fuel tank

frame painted

Sounds like great progress; I recently completed a 76 F250 4x4 Highboy running a 300 stock with 4spd & 4:10 gears.
Looking forward to seeing more of your project!

Any updates? What did you paint your axles and frame with out of curiosity and what did you clean them up with before hand.

JustBlaze
like the name btw...
and for the updates not much has been done because im going to school 7 hours a day, and then working a few.
The axles and frame where painted with POR-15 and then top coated with POR-15 chassis coat black
As for the prep, I used a grinder with wire wheel, POR-15 marine clean and then POR-15 metal ready. I have been very satisfied with the POR-15 products
Hopefully this next few weeks I can get some body work done

Well new twist just got spun onto this project, I have always wanted to put a cummins into my truck but couldnt find the right engine at the right price. I found a 12v with 149k on it with an automatic. I am going to pick the truck up this sunday. the automatic has got to go and starting to look for a nv4500 or a zf5

Looking forward to the rest of the build.
How was the 6 cylinder for towing with the 4bbl and everything?
and how well did it turn the tires?

The 6 was alright for towing got crappy millage everywhere, about 8 at the best. I hauled over a ton of gravel fairly often with no problem up hills. The truck would spin the tires but got some good wheel hop.

The only thing I am concerned about is the weight of the 6bt cummins for my d44. The dodge came with a d60 front but I don't believe that they can be swapped in a ford because of steering?

I got my the underneath side of my cap to bare metal and then painted. So hopefully soon I will be able to start cutting my front cross member and getting the cummins in for a test fit.
here are some pictures of the cab

heres is the cab painted

and the stuff that did the job...
