07 epxy MAX/EL rear vibrations
I just purchased a used 07 Expy MAX Limited with 45,000KMs, drove it off the lot and noticed the back end vibrating! I re-set the calipers by driving it backward with the brake on for 20 feet, had all the tires re-balanced, had the e-brake taken apart and checked, had the rotors checked for warping, had the driveshaft checked for problems, and had new tires put on it... the vibe is still there!
The Ford Mechanic and service tech told me that ALL THEIR NEW EXPY MAX's VIBRATE!!! I can't believe that this is such a prolific problem...has anyone ever experienced this and found a fix for it...???

Yes, the EL is the American designation while the MAX is for Canuckville!
Its not a pressure build up in the cab or anything like that....all road tests are always done with the windows and vents closed... The vibe could be from the driveshaft falling out of trim and needs to be re-shimmed and the bearings replaced....

update: so far nothing has fixed the problem...the dealership told me once again that all their expeditions vibrate and it's inherent to the design: I call bulls**t on that comment as a way for them to get out of having to delve deeper into the problem...
Next up is: new tires and new rotors...

Are you in Toronto? Curious what dealer.. Vibrating is obviously not normal. My 07 developed a terrible vibration as well at around the 50k kms mark, only at highway speeds though.. It was very bad but I was giving it back at lease end so I just gave it back, it was a regular length limited so you didn't buy mine. I am sure some poor guy is driving mine to the dealer every week trying to get it fixed and being fed the same BS story. I would try a different dealer, but not sure what you situation is with warranty.. If you don't have one you are at the mercy of the dealer who sold it to you, don't give up.. Let 'em have it until they fix it, squeaky wheel gets the grease..
There was one time I had to drive head on into a curb to avoid an accident and I suspect that my truck deteriorated after that incident. I bought some 17" rims and snow tires the last winter I had it and when I put on the new wheels and tires the vibration was much subsided, not entirely gone but much much less than with the 20s. When I put the 20s back on in the spring it was back worse than before.. So lord knows what your truck has been though in the past 3 years, could be something similar in its history, maybe the rims are warped? Maybe suggest temporarily swapping the rims/tire combo for a test drive..

Actually, I'm in Calgary... purchased the truck in Vancouver at a Subaru dealership of all places ... ... ... The dealership swapped some stock 20 inchers on to my truck and the vibrations got worse! I had rode around with a friend in his 07 LTD and it was smooth as butter. My 04 eddie bauer is also smooth... Unfortunately, the dealership demo truck was vibrating in the same way, so the service manager said there was not more he could do... ... I ordered up some Hankook Dynapro RF10's in the LT rating and the manager said I would be stupid to put them on (the parts guy said they would probably be great as I drive lots of gravel roads and want to minimize flats!)... I am think that its time to try another dealership and see if they are going to be more willing to track the problem down!
I too am starting to wonder about whether or not the truck was run into something hard before I got it...just funny that a brand new demo model was doing the same thing....

Welcome to the bouncy Super Duty chassis problem
This is what I posted a couple weeks ago. About 3-4 responses down there is a link to another thread (9 pages, I believe) describing what others have done: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ph-bounce.html
So far I haven't done anything (time constraints) about mine except find a couple of Road Force balance machines, but the "day" is coming

I told the service manager that that was a 'bull ****' comment on this being a common problem on all models! They are just trying to sweep it under the rug! I am going to get them to balance the driveshaft while I watch them this time and then have install the new tires and brakes... If the problem still persists, then its going to be a dousing of gasoline and a molotov cocktail!!!
