Transmission identification

How do I find out what transmission I have? E4OD sounds right, but I'm not sure. I've looked at the transmission and all I can see is a barcode sticker up on the side that is almost worn off/unreadable. Looked at the door sticker for a code, but didn't see one for the tranny (I could just be missing it). I've got the original window sticker from the dealership and it mentions about every option that came with the truck, EXCEPT the tranny identification. Is there somewhere else I should be looking?

'98, 5.4, 4x4, 3.55 LS gears, auto, any other info needed?

The code on your door jamb sticker will be located near the bottom, right above the letters UTC in this picture.

This code is: |TR |
E
Code E=4R100/E4OD
U= 4R70W

My code is the 'E', so how do I know if it's the E4OD or the 4R100? The owner's manual states that both of those require different tranny fluid. Thanks!

The 4r100 was in the later models.
I think in 2000 ,the e40d became the 4r100 and was no longer offered in the F-150s. The only f-150s that got a 4r100 were the Lightnings and the 7700 series F-150.
From 2000 on the F-150 with a 5.4 got the 4r70w
In 98 It was still a e40d!

Okay cool! Thanks for the help to everyone.

Are these good tranny's? According to my owner's manual, the E4OD doesn't have a recommended fluid/filter change interval? Should I still change the fluid/filter @ 138,xxx miles?

Could someone help decipher this tag to see what transmission I have? It is an automatic and has overdrive. The label is pretty worn out as you can see.

EDIT wrong forum, my truck is a F250 super duty. Sorry will try to post there.
