So I have every bolt out and my main dash is "floating' and I can get it back enough to get at the rattle I need to fix. Feels like it is hanging up on something maybe the defrost vents. Anyone ever do this ...................... I need some help.
I just took mine out last week. Do you have glove box out? the drink tray out? radio doesnt have to come out but it helps.Did you disconnect the instrument panel? Besides that the only thing I can remember that gave me trouble were the 2 bolts that are hidden by the dash piece that goes around instrument panel and extends radio area.
I have the light switch panel, stereo / instrument cluster panel out, the 650 dash panel out, glove box out, all other bolts including the defrost bolts out, (also the air bag bolts out (thoughs don't need to come out LOL)) the full dash is floating I just can't remove it.
PM sent richard.......................................
Thank Richard that is a great file, I am noe looking to get the rest of the dash out. The piece that goes from the windshield to floor and from driver side to passenger side.
Reps sent, Soooooooooooo I won't be able to explain the rest............................... I FOUND MY RATTLE it was the trans fluid filler tube against the cab easy fix and I made a huge job otta it........................................... DOH!!!!!!
Good job.. I know how you feel.. I had to track down a clunking. took me awhile and i almost had my rear passenger door off its hinges.. Found it was the jack under the rear seat clunking. Easier fix than almost ripping out the dash..
I once had a buzzing sound coming from under my dash that just drove me freaking nuts!!! It was only at certian RPMS. I finally gave up went over to my small local dealer and talked to some guys there! There peeked and pulled on stuff and finally hit the jackpot ! A brake line was just touching the firewall a little tug away and all was well in my world again!!
