2011+ 6.2 Exhaust

When will the after market mfgs give us a nice cat back for this truck. I want a little more rumble! I bet this motor will sounds really nice uncorked alittle.

If anyone associated with Borla or Flowmaster knows anything send me a PM, I'll even be a test mule for you guys.

With all the cats a resonators on the truck you could probably just ditch the muffler and fill in the gap. That is if the truck will pass your states inspection without a muffler.

Thats what i was thinking just ditching the muffler first to see what happens in sound. And if its too loud drop in some kind of universal muffler maybe. I did talk to Gibson a week or so ago and they are now working on something for the 6.2L not sure of specifics. Might give them a call to see what more details are..

why not chop out the stock muffler and insert a Cherry bomb glasspack..

they are super cheap to buy and will certainly give your truck a new sound..

thats what i'd do, esp. given your entire exhaust system is so new.. why replace the cat. back already.

yeah, thats a possiblillity. I just like having a clean, stock fit, kit. I may grab something like a borla or a flowmaster and throw it on, although I must admit if someone comes out with a cat back kit.. it will be purchased and installed quickly! Thanks for the help fellas.

I talked to Gibson today they now have cat back kits for the 2011 Super Duty 6.2L. Here are the part numbers. I dont have any pics of them yet. I ordered the single aluminized swept side. Once i get the system in i will get some pics for us.

These are aluminized part numbers they also have stainless of each style.
Swept side 319657
Dual Sport 9119
Dual Extreme 9118

On a side note i did call around today to other exhaust companies and some said there is no demand for the Super Duty 6.2L. LOL those folks are a sleep behind the wheel.

Funny thing is I've seen more 2011 6.2l trucks in my area than 6.7l trucks. With only 2 engine options in the SD I don't see how there is no demand for 6.2l upgrades.

Is that the cat with the dual inlet in the above pic, or are they not in the pic and closer to the engine?

Is the Gibson cat back a true cat back then? Does it get rid of everything except the cats? Does it keep any of the resonators?

I am almost sure the large resonator would stay in place no sure about the small just before muffler. We have one on order that should be in next week.
