Fuel level float

Can you buy just the float barrel for a fuel level? I think mine has a leak. I just put in a new tank and now the level is staying on empty. If I unplug the wiring it shoots up to full and I also lifted the unit up as high as I could and was able to squeeze my hand into the tank and manually lift the bar and the gauge went up also.

If your float is the brass one, I have drained them and then soldered the leak.

If you dry it off well, then shake the fuel out, you will know exactly where the crack is.

Wire brush, a little flux and a touch of solder with a medium heat soldering iron does a fine job.
