Did you notice that under the electrical section, the distributor shaft, cap and rotor are covered? lol

Uh... how many decades has it been since these were not longer relevant? Makes me wonder about the entire warranty. How can it be valid if it doesn't specifically include PCM and TCM?

I am confused. Is your point that $1325 for a 2011 Diesel ESP Premium Care 7 Year/100K with $200 deductable a good deal or a bad deal?

I apologize, not trying to be difficult, but not sure if your post is sarcasm or not

$200 deductable is a high deductable.

$1325 for 2011 diesel esp premium is a smoking deal. 1 day rental can be deleted and you save a few bucks.

either way this dealer is smoking the good stuff, they sold it to you for $400 less then what it COST them. That is even before credit card fees.

I pop mine for $200 over cost, that covers credit card fees and lets my dealership make a few bucks, these guys are going backwards....

wait tell someone catches that little mistake.........

I have a 2005 Ford F-350 DRW 6.0 diesel that was purchased in October 2004 and if it were not for the extended warranty I would have been out about $8000 alone this summer. In stead it only cost me $750 in deductibles.
Can't you buy the Geico extended warranty AFTER the Ford warranty expires?

I just looked into getting a Ford ESP for my 04 with 35k on the clock and since im out of the original 3 yr / 36,000 mile factory warranty, it would require that I have a Ford ESP Inspection completed before a policy can be issued.

Should I even bother? I doubt Ford would ever approve a 6.0 that is out of warranty even with low miles.

These were the prices I was quoted:

PremiumCARE 4 yr / 48K - $1765.00
PremiumCARE 3 yr / 36K - $1445.00
ExtraCARE 4 yr / 48K - $1395.00
BaseCARE 4 yr / 48K - $1180.00
PowertrainCARE - 4 yr / 48K - $945.00

I've called Ford ESP and the way I understand it is the only way you would be able to get a Ford ESP out of the base 3/36 is to buy the truck at the dealership used and buy a used ESP at the time of purchase. If a Ford dealer sells you a USED ESP PLAN and Ford finds out your warranty will be voided and you might lose your money if dealership does not give you a refund.

"In order for vehicles to be eligible for used
coverage (except for Used Maintenance
Plans), the selling dealer must prepare a
Used Vehicle Inspection Checklist (FCS-
9754). Dealers should retain the form in their
file along with associated internal repair order that indicates the ESP UVIC was completed"

<br>
"In the event defects are discovered on eligible used contracts prior to their sale,
the dealer is required to perform the necessary repairs to place the vehicle in good
working order and may not submit ESP claims for repairs of these defects either
before or after the sale of the vehicle. Claims submitted for these repairs will not be
honored and are subject to charge back to the dealer. ESP reserves the right to request
supporting documentation when failures after the sale of the contract/vehicle appear to be pre-existing."

I agree whole heartedly, I have a 2005 6.0L and have been to the repair shop to a tune of around $4000 approx. since the factory warranty ran out. It has been a life saver when travelling far from home and not having to worry about where am I going to get the money to fix it. I paid $1100 for this extended warranty and I have another year to go before I need to dig into my pockets. Maybe then I will be looking for a new 6.7L to buy an extended warranty for!

Lots of good info here, especially since I'm picking up my 6.7 tomorrow. I have the 200K power train warranty and couldn't imagine owning my current truck without it. Sure Ford makes money but with the miles I put on my truck and with the distances I travel, I have the extended warranty. Personal choices here. And as someone noted earlier, there are a lot of 6.0/6.4 owners who were glad for their ext warranty and I'm one of them. My last warranty claim was for $10k (last month) and my 6.0 had over $10k in warranty claims as well. With my new truck, Ill be out of the standard warranty in 7 months so I guess I'll pay for one again. Again, everybody needs to assess their situation.

Regardless, I didn't know we could go to different dealerships and negotiate the price; that is sweet! Thanks for the info.

partsguyed.com, Help me understand something. Possibly interested in PowerTrain ESP only. 2011 F350 6.7 4X4. If I purchase the 7/100K, all I would be gaining is an additional 2 years on the motor and 40K miles on the other power train parts, because of what Ford already covers. Is this correct or not? Thanks
