2008 Expedition Rear Halfshaft Nut

Does anyone know what size is the rear Halfshaft Nut on the 2008 Expedition? I need to get a sucket but I cannot tell what size sucket I need. I have the Workshop Manual, but it doesn't tell me which size it is.

On my Cobra's IRS, it's a 36mm. Have not checked the Expy's bearing nuts yet, but I'll try to check it for you if I get some time this week.

Thank you. That was a good confirmation. I used adjustable wrench, I squeezed it tight around the halfshaft nut, I pulled it out carefully and I measured somewhere around 35 and 36. I thought it couldn't be 34mm for sure so it must be 36mm. At least now I can go and buy the right socket. But the fun I think is just beginning, trying to figure out how to pull the hub out. I think I'll rent the hub puller from O'Reilly's.

Are you replacing the hub or are you just trying to replace the broken lugs? Usually you can hammer the lugs out and then replace them...

As far as the "sucket" (socket) ... OK ... let's say spelling is not my strong side and I forgot to run the post through spell check.

But all I want to do is replace the broken studs and I'm trying to find the easiest way of doing it. One option is to get the Hub out. Another option is to get the parking brakes out without getting the Hub out. I've never done this before so I don't know which way would be better or easier, but something has to come out because there's no room for the studs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Take the entire thing off, it generally saves more time and there is less stuff to break.
