Looking for Perf. Shop near Long Beach for my V10

Hello from Long Beach.

I'm new to the forum, and am looking to do a few mods to my truck in an effort to help it tow my 9,200 lbs. trailer.

Any recommendations of a reliable service shop would be appreciated.

Vehicle Spec:

1999 Ford F250 SuperDuty SuperCab 2WD V10
Transmission: 5-SPD Manual
Engine: 6.8 EFI-SOHC (W)
Horse Power: 265-275 (120th off of the line in Kentucky)
Rear Gear Ratio: 3.73 (stock)
Miles on Engine: 66,000 (not my daily driver)

Modifications:

Suspension Lift: 4"
Tires: 35" x 12.50 x 17"
Cat-Back: Borla - Split Dual Exhaust

Possible Performance Enhancements:

01. Swap rear-end gears
a. should I go with 4.56's or 4.88's?
b. mpg vs. power?
c. after I re-gear, do I need to do anything to the truck (electronically), so that it knows the ratio is different?

02. Power Module / Tuner ()
a. is the X3 by 5 Star Tuning the only choice, or is there a better option?

03. Headers
a. recommendations welcome.

04. Trans Cooler
a. recommendations welcome.

Any other recommended mods are welcome.

Thanks.

Hey Rob...welcome to FTE.

I'm not a V10 guy but I can tell you that Mike @ 5 star seems to be the guy that's most well respected on these forums...several people are running his tunes and I haven't heard any complaints.

Sorry I can't help you on the shop...hopefully someone will have some suggestions.

Steve:

Thanks for the reply. I'll for sure consult Mike and hopefully, I'll get a reply regarding a good mechanic shop that deals with Super Duty trucks nearby.
