1983 FORD F-150 vaccuum lines help

Hello,
I am new here . I have had my 1983 ford f-150 w/ 351 windsor v8 2bbl carb and a 3 speed column shift auto tranny.

My truck has been running really rough under load @ even just accelerating to 5 mph. I figured i would start at getting all the vaccuum hoses nice and tight.

Luckily i still have the diagram pic on the radiator support, unfortunantly i can not figure it out. Here is a pic of the diagram and some pics of my engine bay with clos-ups of the hoses I am trying to figure out....

Use the dictionary in this link to decode the abbreviations in the diagram.
http://www.motorera.com/dictionary/index.htm
Be more specific in your questions, we will have to work through it one at a time. For example in your pictures, draw a colored arrow to a hose or a component and ask "what is the line that the green arrow is pointing to for?"

Hello,
Thank you al for all your help so far. The link provided has been very helpful. I will get some more pics. My vaccum lines are not running to the right places.
I guess we can start with the vaccuum line from the EGR valve, Where is that supposed to go?

From the vacuum diagram it looks like it goes to one of the solenoid valves, looks like there are 3 on the drivers side and its the front one.

I almost forget to mention that since I have taken the pictures I posted I have since removed my heater w/ all the hoses attached to it, My A/C and any hoses related to it. And the cruise control I deleted. Everything I deleted I listed on ebay. DI figured its less stuff to break down on me and is less confusing now trying to figure out the hoses that matter. Ill get some updated pics here soon. Pardon my dirty engine....its a work in progress

Thats a great eye to see that in the picture. Its like wheres waldo, except wheres carbo lol.

I noticed that too. I ran A hose from there to somewhere ,I forget where but it did cause the roughness under load to go away. Where would that hose supposed to go any ways as I am sure my vaccuum lines have been hacked over the years. I would like to get them (vacuum hoses) ran the way they were when this truck rolled off the factory back in 1983.

I need someone else to look at his first picture with the radiator support diagram to confirm what I am seeing.

I see total solenoid control of the egr, and I can't find the dist in the diagram. That is telling me this was a computer engine, and it has now been converted to a vacuum operated dist and I am not sure but the carb could have been changed out also.

Am I correct?

Another thing I am curious about is that my truck has the serpentine belt system.Did 1983 trucks offer a serpentine set up? I thought they were all V belt configuration.....

I am honestly not sure. But it does have vac. dist. . There is not a mechanical fuel pump. My fuel pump is a little electric pump mounted on the LT tire well of my engine bay. i dont think this is factory either.....A carb engine matched with a electric fuel pump...Is that normal?thanks

No, that electric pump is not stock. If what I am seeing is true, you are never going to get this truck back to "stock like it came from the factory", but that is not a bad thing sometimes when it comes to some of the first computerized engines. They were a transition engine before fuel injection came out. They still had a carb, but with a computer to control emissions. No one likes to work on them very much and parts can be hard to get, so that's probably the reason why yours was converted, or possibly the whole engine was swapped at some time.

I don't see the distributor either. Though I see the carb in top center, no other signs of a vacuum advance..
