I am wanting to upgrade my entire A?C system on my 79 f150. The truck is a factory air truck that I am wanting to upgrade. Does anyone know where the best place to get all the components. I checked with NAP and the sale kits for trucks that didnt have factory a/c I want to put a whole new system in

If you are wanting to do a complete upgrade, take a look at Vintage air or Old Air.

jsutton, I checked with them but they only do kits for truck witout factory air they told me. I seen they had complete kits at good prices but none for factory air trucks Thanks

 

I have used vintage air and they have a very complete kit, but Old Air has factory replacement parts.

I have emailed both vintage air and old air about getting parts for my truck. Hopefully one of them will be able to suplly what i need ( which is everything)

 

The only thing you would need that they wouldn't have would be the factory style evaporator. Which wouldn't be hard to get some where else. But anyway, I know you'll be happy when you get the air going no matter where you get the parts from. I know I was. It's nice to be driving an older truck with the windows up when it's 100^ outside

 

I can get the evap through NPD pretty reasonable so I may check and see on getting everything else through old air or vintage air. do their kits come with compressor bracket? Thanks

 

If you still have your original York compressor bracket (or can get one from a junkyard) you can use this bracket from NAP to mount up a new Sanden style compressor. Which is what I'm gonna do if/when my York goes out. I've heard York's don't last too long after switching to R134.

Vintage Air comes with the brackets for the complete kit. I think you can get just the brackets from old air.

I dont have the brackets I need everything from the condenser to the evap. I have my evap box with the blower and all the controls but need everything under the hood and Im going to swap the evap just to make sure I have no issues

Will this bracket work for a straight compressor replacement? By that I mean, just pull the old York, bolt on the sanderson. Will the factory hoses and fan belt connect?

Will the sanderson compressor work\perform better than an old still working York?

Not trying to hi jack the thread but to answer the question.

I really don't know if the new compressor would work better than a working York or not. I just plan on using one because I don't care for how much the York vibrates. You could use your factory hoses I'm sure, although I've heard that you need barrier hose so that the R134 doesn't seep out through the hoses. But you will need the high and low side R134 charge ports you can see I had a new low side hose made with a low side charge port built in. I got a high side hose from a newer truck and you can see in the pic I added an inline charge port. You can buy both high side and low side inline charge ports like that.
