Autometer or Proparts a-pillar gauge pods?

I'm looking for the 4 gauge pod setup for the a-pillar on my excursion. I see there are 2 brands avilable. On both my dodges I have the autometer and I am happy with it as I was able to get them to mount without using the factory a-pillar cover. Does anyone have any experince with either of the other brands on super dutys? How they mount? how the angle of the gauges are? overall quality? Also does anyone have any suggestions as to where to buy them prepainted?
Thanks

I have autometer on my truck and they fit nicely and am very happy with them. You have to mount the pillar cover to your factory pillar though..........

Glad to hear they are still nice. If its like the ones on my dodges I might be able to do what I did last time. I made a frame and attached it to steal pillar behind the factory cover, then mounted the pillar pod setup to the frame. It also provides lots of space to run wires.
Thanks. I'll go hunt down a place that has the autometers.

So far, I've only been disappointed with 1 autometer piece for the Super Duty.

I bought the single gauge/column mount pod for my F350, and it was TERRIBLE. Other than that, their products are top-notch.

You should be fine with an A-pillar mount.

Thanks,
From searching around it looks like riff raff is the place to go. They are out of the shop until tomorrow so I will call then.
Thanks again

I'll third Autometer and recommend only the full pillar pod. The singles are nearly impossible to get the OE look with, but the full length (like the Quad) look great with just a coat of paint.

I've never seen them pre-painted aside from a couple of models autometer used to offer. We used to use murray's autoparts and keystone, both have retail sides.

riff raff is impossable to get a hold of on the phone. Are there any other suggestions for someone that sells auto meter pods? At this point painting dosent matter. I need this to arrive so I can install it before the 20th.

I was just doing research on exactly the same thing, so thanks all for the input. I just did a Google search using "Autometer 4 guage pillar pod" and came up with numerous companies selling it, including amazon. Looks like $48.00 and up at a glance, but I really don't have time to do more right now. Would you mind posting what you find as far as good price and delivery time? Thanks, and good luck. Mike

Of course. Thanks for the info. I always forget to check amazon. Considering I bought coil springs for one of my dodges and a lift for my friends jeep off there real cheap I should remember! I did find out though that the 4 gauge a-pillar setup prevents you from using your sun visor. It apparently hits it pretty good. It just clears the 3 pod setup. So now I am not sure what I'm going to do. I'll let you know once I decide and if you do anything let me know too please.
Thanks

Yea, I read the same thing, but then someone replied that if you just pull the right hand side out of it's clip when you use it, it works just fine. Anyone on here Know if this is true??? Mike

P.S.: Yea, it's funny the sh** you can find on Amazon, I am used to thinking of it as things for the wife, but not anymore.

I just looked and yes you can. But they are third party vendors so no free shipping. Bummer!

I went out and looked at my visor last night, kind of guesstimating where the visor would hit the four gauge pod, and I think it is probably OK. Try this - Like I said above, pull the right side of the visor out of it's clip, and rotate the right side of the visor outward, toward you, then flip the visor back against the windshield (at this point I think that it would clear the 4 gauge pod), and put the right side back into it's clip. If you were able to follow that, I think that the visor is now in place behind our imaginary (at this point) 4 gauge pod ... or did I just confuse the hell out of everyone? Mike

P.S.: This morning's thought - Would you admit to your friends that you had your wife order your short block off of Amazon??

I follow you and I think that might work too. Does anyone know for sure?

And no I would not. Of course I'm also the guy that orderd a engine and it took more then 4 years for delivery so maybe amazon would have been a good idea!
