replace ac compressor

I need help

My ac compressor locked up on my 2004 f350.

Can someone tell me the steps on replacing it. Also how should I go about it? Should I go through the top or bottom what do I need to take off to get to it?

Thanks for your help

drain a/c system. remove fan, fan stator, remove belt from a/c compresser, remove ground cable that is in your way... dont worry you will see it. remove the 3 a/c compressor bolts. position the compresser so you can remove the manifold line, remove the manifold line. reinstall in reverse.

I take them out the top when I do them. Im not an "ac" tech per say but from time to time I help out there too and that how I do the r/i part.

(I don't usually promote Bill, but I bookmarked these a long time ago - and they might help, I don't recall how good they are)
