Anti-Theft Reset

Can anybody help me ? I have a 2000 F150 Lariat, I had to repo from a buyer and all I have is a non-dealer key. The truck started fine three or four times now the THEFT light is flashing on the dash and won't start. How can I reset it?

Any details?, price, procedures, anything? I have a friend with the same problem, I haven't been able to help him and he's broke(moneywise also). Just trying to understand this problem in case it ever happens to my 1999.

Bottom Line - Always have 3 keys in case You lose one. You can buy them on feebay for 6 bucks (Ford Logo Keys too. Dealer won't even give You them anymore) get them cut at sears hardware for 2 bucks. Reprogram them Yourself. When I bought My truck a few months ago it only had 1 key. Dealer gave Me a bunch of crap about 130 bucks to reprogram. After a few minor threats he agreed to do it for free. I hate it when a dealer cries poormouth - "We didn't make any money on that truck" Yeah, Right.
