Hi all,

I searched the forum and looked at a bunch of the normal restoration supply houses and could not find anything that mentions stock style seat covers. My F100's stock bench is pretty torn up so I'm going to restore it. The stock seat is red vinyl with two black, cloth/woven panels on the seat back. In between the two panels there is an embossed Ford emblem with the gear and lightning bolt. Anyone know of a company that sells this style as new?

I know they have original and correct 1961/66 material and can emboss the gear and lightning bolt onto the backrest, but you'll have to contact them for prior years.

I have parts catalog pics of the original FoMoCo swatches for the seat upholstery...in color. For 1960, the trim code was T03 for "Red and Light Grey" Vinyl.

Jesse at Midfifty's gave me a number for a company called Seatz located in CA. I'm also getting samples from SMS (who I bought the cloth and vinyl materials for my 69 Montego's interior from.)
I also learned my bench seat is not original to the truck. The experts say the embossing on it points to 64-65. Under the seat, hog-ringed to a spring is a metal tag with "Reynolds" stamped on it along with a part number beginning with a C4.
After I get my sample materials, I just have to decide if I stay with stock 1960 or go with the embossed style.

No cloth was used on 1961/66 F Series seats. Either all vinyl-Standard Cabs, or vinyl and woven plastic-Custom Cabs.

According to the colored swatches, there is one BODY code that matches this criteria for 1964.

BODY code E81 (Custom Cab): Red crush vinyl & red check stripe woven plastic.

There are two variations: Trim code 5: Red crush vinyl with two black stripes. Both stripes are the same width.

Trim code 13: Red crush vinyl with two black stripes. One black stripe is wider than the other.

ND- you're right that the black area really isn't a cloth insert. It's like woven plastic.
So my seat probably came from a custom cab?
If I got the body code from my 1960, could you tell me what my soft trim was originally?

I can decode 1960, I believe the Warranty Plate will have TRIM marked on it.

The upholstery pattern on this 1964 seat has been modified from its original form.

There were no divided panels styled like this on the backrests of 1961/66 bench seats.

These backrests have about one foot of vinyl above, two feet of woven plastic (Custom Cabs) below, divided by a straight line.

Appears that someone added the inserts which do not match the swatches, divided them with red vinyl. This embossed emblem is not the same as was used 1965/66.

IMO, this was originally a Standard Cab seat, based on the location of the embossing. Whoever reupholstered it was able to save the upper section of the vinyl that contained the embossing.

There is only the pop-rivited vin plate on my glove box door. Color is J. It looks like there was something else stuck to the door which has been torn out. There is no other plates or stickers stuck anywhere else. That warranty plate is probably long gone unfortunately.
There probably wasn't more than 1 interior color that went with exterior color J, right?

The Rating aka Warranty Plate is pop riveted to the inside of the glovebox door. Has the VIN, codes for the W.B. (wheelbase), COLOR, MODEL, DATE, TRANS, AXLE and etc on it.

There was once a decal on the inside of the glovebox door that had tire info on it, but that's prolly missing by now.

COLOR code J = Monte Carlo Red.

That's good to know regarding the fact that any one of the four colors could have been used. Guess I can make it my choice now since no documentation or proof exists as to what the truck had originally.

I'm spraying the original red back on inside and out.

i know this is an old thread but was wondering if you knew where I could see a picture of my 69 f100 ranger seat upholstery? The trim code is N and the scheme is Dark red Corinthian vinyl and red granada pattern vinyl.
