ok guys i swapped the engine from my 90 f250 into my 89 f250... both 351's... one is a zf trans.. the other was a E4OD... got it hooked up yesterday, tried to crank it... it sputted for a secong and now nothing,, i think the gas in the truck is not good enough to run... i was wondering if there was a easy way to disconnect the fuel line and jump something so the pump will run and i can drain all the old gas... so my question is is there a relay i can jump to make it run continiously until i undo the jump on it?? also would it have any troubles running the 90 engine off the 89 computer??

also i am going to rent a fuel pressure tester now so i can test my pressure also.... also gonna check for spark (even tho i dont see that being an issue beings that it ran in the other truck... just looking for a few ideas so when i get back i can hopefully get this thing to fire up today

 

There is a drain plug on the bottom...just unscrew it.

 

Unplug the electrical plug on the high pressure pump.
Unhook the pressure fuel lines from each tank where they go into the fuel selector valve by pulling out the hair pin clip and then pulling the hose off and sticking the hoses into 5 gal buckets.
Jump pin #2 to pin #6 of the self-test plug, select the tank to pump from and turn on the key.

I have never seen a drain plug on a fuel tank.

yeah the relay i seen as soon as i looked and thought about it for 2 seconds lol.. thanks tho, i didnt know where the inertia switch was, even tho in my case it wasnt the issue... the fuel tank selector valve was shot and not letting any fuel through whatsoever.. didnt think it could completely clog up, but it managed to... anyways pulled it out and just jumped the lines for the rear tank. now with its new engine, clutch, and rigged fuel lines it actually runs now,,, now i just got a hundred other things to work out, dont worry you all will be hearing from me soon enough about help on other issues lol
