Would You Consider This an Eyesore?

I have been having an argument with Kendra about buying a trailer. Her problem is not the money aspect of the trailer purchase, but the fact that she doesn't want to look at it for the rest of her life. Me, being a guy, could care less about how white-trash it looks to have a trailer in the yard, so I am trying to reason with her. I have this great spot picked out in the back, out of the way, and not conspicuous, in my standards.

What do you think?

My proposal is to cut down a tree where I now store the tractor attachments, and to move them to an even less visible part of the yard.

Here is the location from the "coming up the driveway" point of view. It is well off to the left, behind some foliage (nice way of putting white trash prickers that Kendra doesn't want to get rid of becasue it hides things, so basically it reinforces my argument).

Here is where the said "problem" lies. The view from the deck.

The trailer I have secured a price on is an brand new 2009 Anderson WC720. It is an 18' wood deck with an additional 2' wood deck beaver tail, and 5' ramps. I guess they don't make them anymore, or it was a special order, that never ended up selling. It is going to pull double duty, hauling cars and equipment. The reason I started looking is that I am sick of hauling other peoples dilapidated ****boxes around. The equipment trailer I normally use isn't legally registered, and it borrows a plate from the owners other trailer, and the car hauler I took to LVD, half the lights didn't work.

Can you put up a shed to house the trailer and tractor and attachments? I'd think that may be a little more aesthetically pleasing.

There is a garage in the 5 year plan for everything that is outside, but Kendra won't allocate the funds for that yet.

I bet you will not notice the trailer parked there. Zip the tree and put the trailer in its place.

What about a couple of sections of fence 6' cedar fence? 2 hinged doors at the front and maybe a piece or two on the right to block the view from the deck. Wouldn't be too expensive and could be easily replaced if/when a garage comes into play.

And sometimes making up after the fight is fun and you still got what you want?

Why dont you go for broke, make your 5yr plan your 6month plan. Construction costs are really low now. Even from 1 year ago. I am in the planning stages for an 8000 sq ft bldg. My contractor has saved me a load of money from when we talked last, a year ago.

Couldn't you put everything in the spot you want to put the attachments? How often do you anticipate using the trailer? Park the trailer in the hidden spot then park the attachments on it then cover with a green tarp. Could even paint the trailer green to match the tractor to make it blend in more. If you can't park the trailer with your truck 'cause it's too long (for the hidden area), couldn't you do it with the tractor?

The turn would be too sharp for the trailer to make.

not sure, but pretty often. It would not only be a car/equipment hauler, but it would also transport large items, as my utility is enclosed, and can't house them. Sometimes I miss having a pickup.

Now that is just crazy talk.

Again, the trailer wouldn't make the swing, but even if it did, I would have to make something work to get a ball on the thing. I have the draw bar that came with it, and I know they make a 3pt attachment for it, but the backhoe requires the removal of the 3pt hitch, and the backhoe stays on the machine almost all the time. Seems silly to unload the hoe, load the 3pt and the ball attachment, just to pull the trailer out, just to unload the 3pt to put the how back on.

I'm good with putting it where I want it, and I am doing a lot of work on the ouse for the wife this summer with the intent of cashing in some brownie points to get the trailer later this summer or fall.
