May pick up a Harley

I found a local guy with a 01 HD crew cab, has 110000 on it. Runs and drives fine, but has a couple cosmetic issues because it is a rebuilt title truck. He's asking 6500 for it. I do have access to a body shop, so the remaining work doesn't scare me. I just wonder if it's a decent deal or if I should hold out for him to drop it down? Also how bad are these things in the snow? I live on a farm with a 1/4 mile gravel driveway, and I'd hate to get something that I'd be scared to hurt. I also have a f350 with a v10 but the gas mileage is killing me, so I was considering selling it. Anyway, sound like it's worth it or not?

What year did they start with the supercharged versions of these trucks? Thanks again!

An update on the truck, it was an engine fire. That's why it was totaled. Everything was replaced and it's his DD right now. The truck also comes with a kenne bell supercharger set up that may or may not be good, was on the truck previously.

I've got a 2000 edition and they are terrible on the snow. I would be worried about buying any vehicle that has been totaled due to fire, I would rather have one that has been totaled due to a crash. Fire and Flood can create a lot of secondary issues. If the price came down to 5k I might think about it. Look at it this way, you are getting a high milage vehicle and one that has been burnt.

I wouldn't even feel safe if you wanted to buy mine and you were going to drive it on the snow and that is coming from a guy who is trying to get rid of one. Good luck on the hunt and buy the way, premium pump gas and about 17 highway with 15mpg city (actual experienced mileage) isn't going to help your gas issue much. If your V10 is like mine you are getting about 10 when not loaded and 9 mph when loaded.
