It isn't good....7.5" as fast as that storm dumped it caused a bad flash flood. I worked in the same storm this morning and my feet were soaked 45 minutes into day. At 1400 today they were looking for 36 folks; when I got to the house at 1800 there was 20 confirmed dead and still looking for another 35-40 (depends on which news source). I'm not familiar with the Albert Pike Campground...but I've been through Caddo Gap a couple of times and I can tell you there isn't allot of space for flash flood waters to go.

As much as I hate to say it...it's more than likely going to rise as the weekend goes on. Most of the folks that are missing were sleeping in tents...so they didn't have much of a chance. The prayers of my family go out to those who have lost family/friends today...and those that haven't gotten the news yet.

That was a bad deal. I have seen Albert Pike campground before and all the camp sites were very close to the river. The terrain is very steep and narrow from the camp ground upstream for many miles. All the rainwater runs right into the river and it has nowhere to go. I bet the wall of water looked like something out of a movie.
