sea foam treatment

so thinking of giving my old 96 4.9 the sea foam treatment, anyone got any suggestions and so forth? you just run it in that line going from the brake booster to the intake right? Its just running doggy as crap with the a/c on and was hoping to get a little more power! Also what would be a good indicater that the cats are plugged? 132000 miles

if your cat is pluged the cat would be a red/brown color and the manifolds would be that red/brown color as well what kind of seafoam do you have the spray can or the bottle

My truck is running fine however it has 197000 miles on it. Would anyone recommend using seafoam on it anyway?

No reason not to. It just detoxes / desludges the engine. I would do it prior to every oil change 1/3,1/3,1/3 & run lucas injection cleaner in gas every 4-5 tanks.Sea Foam | Motor Treatment

You can temporarily remove the 02 sensor ahead of the cat to see if power returns, or take a pressure read at the bung hole. Should be less than 3psi. Or take to muffler shop & have checked. Habitual use of higher than 87 octane will poison & clog a Cat. If replacement is required 7 you have two inline, replace w/ a single hi-capacity unit.

Ignition upgrade to stretch plug gap, then further advance timing. FullSizeBronco.com - 78 - 96 Ford Bronco offroad club, forums, tech, installs & About the Ign. sys./timing bump. - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans Check out your Cats first.
