When was it they came out with the updated cover/sensor? I've got a friend that's got an 06 6.0 and his light is coming on a lot (like 2 times a month almost). He changes his fuel filters every 10k miles and says every time the light comes on, he drains it and water does come out, so I don't guess it's a false alarm. He doesn't fill up at the same stations all the time so it's not like he's goin to the one station in town with bad diesel. What could be the problem?

Ok. Well he said the first time he drained it, it had a TON of water and the light was coming on all the time. Now he said it is starting to come on less often and there's not near as much water.

So you think he could've just got a hold on some bad diesel and it's just takin it a while to get out?

 

I sure hope your friend is using the OEM fuel filters.

 

We both use nothing but Motorcraft for ALL filters.
