Aloha.
Thanks to all that helped. I got the engine running, but when I give it gas i can here a lot of sucking noise comming from the carberator and it jumps and spits and dies if I dont let off the gas.
How can I tell what carberator is on my truck. I am pretty sure it is a stock 1barrel

1966 ford f100 inline 6 300 w/MT

 

Auto-Lite/Motorcraft 1100 1V carburetor.

 

Glad you got it running! A couple things to think about :

Check fuel pressure - usually 5-8 PSI for carb'd stuff
how old is the gas?
how long has it been sitting? carb might have plugged up passages
what condition is the ignition system in? Points, wires, plugs, cap, rotor, etc.
