I'm restoring a 78 Bronco and doing it in a one car garage.... so I don't have the room to do the blasting or painting...... is there anyone in the lower michigan area that does bead blasting?? or have a booth at home?? or know a good shop?? Ill pay or possibly trade something for the work. I'm looking to get this done sometime in the next 3-4 weeks. I'm just starting on the body panel repairs and the truck is completely stripped other than the motor and tranny that I'm trying to sell. Thanks!!!
thats a long way to trailer it but I guess if there a really good shop ill do it. I have called around a few shops here and the only place they suggest is maco.... I just dont trust them.....
It is actually nice to set up a bunch of tarps and make a booth with a tarp for the floor as well. then you can reuse most of the blast material since it doesn't get contaminated and makes for an easy cleanup.
I actually made a sandblaster out of an old propane tank that i found. It only cost me about $50.00 to build after all the fittings. I use it on my 77 f250 all the time. I am blasting on piece at a time. I will eventually be doing the frame too. I have a huge garage but i still move it into the driveway cuz that stuff makes a huge mess.
id love to do it myself but i live in a "ritsy" part of michigan and ya we have ordinances about doing stuff like this 'out in the open' my uncle has a blasting gun and a 35 gal compressor im just not allowed to do it.
