Mirror side marker light! How to change bulb???
Hey in the book it does not tell me how to change the bulb in the amber lens on my mirrors. I have a 2003 F 250 and I cannot figure what the trick is to get the lens off to change the bulbs in it.
Anyone out there know or have delt with taking the lens out?
Thanks

Maybe a little more research is in order. Do you mean that you have to change the whole lamp assembly or the whole mirror? I'll check it out tomorrow to see for sure.

Here's the link to their website: Recon Accessories: FORD SIDE Mirror Lenses
They show smoked and clear as being available for the lenses. All their LED's in this application are amber.

The OP stated he wanted to know how to remove the lense to replace the bulb. That's why I questioned it.

Used Mirror Lenses
I wish I could bump into someone with a set of lenses to fit a 2004 SuperDuty. All I need are the lenses, not the LEDs. My daughter tagged a mailbox with the passenger side mirror -- which I guess was better than hitting the garbage truck that pulled out in front of her. Didn't hurt anything else, but wiped out the amber lens on the mirror. So far as ford ir concerned that entire MIRROR is all or nothing.

Easily replace Clearance Lights on Outside Mirror,F250
On a 2008, F250, To replace the Clearance Lights on the Mirrors:
1) Adjust the Glass Mirror all the way In.
2) Just past the edge is a 1" tab.
3) Push In on the Tab; the Clearance Light Unit should now be free.
4) Pull Out on the Unit and Untwist the Lamp Holders
5) replace the appropriate bulb. Goodluck..Don't pry on it with a screwdriver!

Just installed mine - super easy actually. Pictures:
Broken light (removed already):
Shows where to pry to remove (I find it easy to know WHAT you're prying before you pry):
Here's the Passenger's side, where to pry. It's tough to describe, but with an eye in there it makes sense:
Then once you get the housing off, you have this:
Just pinch these, and pop the light out:
Pop the new one in:
And just snap it all back in!

Well I was going to say check out this thread that I made last summer.
A heat gun helps to warm up the little wings that hold the lamp in place.
After you get the lamp removed the wings won't be as tight so heat them a little
bit and open them up to keep them in place.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...or-covers.html
But I see it's been covered. The lamps are LED so you will have to do one of two things.
1. Take the lamp housing apart and try to fix it.
2. Buy a lamp assembly to put in. Check the yards for a broker mirror cover and
see if the lamps is good.
