new to the forum. finally bought an econoline pickup!

i have been looking for an early 60's econoline pickup for years. every one i find in wisconsin was super rusty and still going for thousands. till today! i love ebay! i just bought a 61 pickup set on an early bronco frame. for $500! i own an autobody shop and have had the itch to chop something for awhile. what is the most extreme chop anyone has seen? i am thinking about attempting 6-8". also. is the glass worth anything? all of the original glass is supposedly intact. i have no use for it.

Hey Rosecustom,
Congrats on your new purchase! And the price is right.
Being that it has already been messed with (put onto a Bronco chassis,)
you shouldn't feel too bad about cutting the metal a bit. This compared
to guys who seek out perfect barn finds to cut.

The glass is worth quite a bit, especially the corners. But what are you
gonna do for glass then?

I almost bought my first Econo P/U today. My situation isn't a shortage
but rather I'm looking at 3 right now... ...still got to decide. None of them
have stock bumpers and that's what I wanted on 'em... Been looking
for years too!

i plan on deleting them. i am thinking a small 4 inch sliver backglass located dead center. all body seams are going to be welded and smoothed. i couldn't destroy something original. but this... i can do whatever i want. what do you think the glass is worth?

Chopped and shaved sounds crazy. I saw the corner windows on EBay going for
as low as a hundred bucks each for basic ones to as high as 215 for a true tinted
one. But if selling on forums I tend to go lower priced than online auction places
to stay in the supportive spirit of forums like this...

Windshields are still available new after some hunting and I've seen those for 200 to 300
sometimes even installed at that price. The rear glass is flat so it can be cut to spec
but is may be easier for someone to buy from a guy like you...?

Corner windows are hard to find up here. I'm good for now.
There is a guy who chopped one up here. Did a terrible job lining things up. It was a 5 window truck also. He put a 460 engine in the box to drive the truck. It gets trailered. But far from being done. I don't like it chopped.
Your video I see there is a tray under the dash I never seen one of those in the econolines. Be nice to have. I seen dash skirts. But never a tray. So I wonder if someone fit that in there from a Old Maverick or a AMC gremlin or Hornet.
