NPD parts for Ford

I need to order a tailgate and a Rad support, I have a catalogue for National Parts Depot. The rad support goes for 299 and the tailgate is 399. I'd rather buy new ones than dink around with these old ones on the truck. I dont think they're worth putting the time into as they're pretty bad and I havnt been able to find anything used close to me. Anyone know of another place to check in with before I go ahead and order these?

you may just want to do some local shopping around at salvage yards, farmers barns, and on here of course.

Dennis Carpenter; I beleive offers NOS style & repo's as well. Also try The Truck Shop out of Orange county Ca. (Customer Service is poor but great products overall)
Mac's Auto parts in New York has them as well I beleive.

I purchase from all above mnetion vendor's as well as NPD; they are all very good folks; worst vendor for quality in my opinion is LMC; Long motor company; they stock same as others but alot of overseas less than great stuff. But if your on a tight budget they provide.

FTE has sponsors that sell repro parts for these trucks:

AUTO KRAFTERS / BLUE OVAL TRUCK PARTS / CAROLINA CLASSICS / MAC'S ANTIQUE AUTO PARTS / MAR-K / NATIONAL PARTS DEPOT

Most of the parts sold by the truckandcarshop.com (not an FTE sponsor) are made in Asia.

AFAIK, none of the above sells NOS parts, they might have a few things, but that would be about it.

Dennis Carpenter sells repro parts and has the 2nd largest stock of Ford obsolete parts.

Green Sales Co in Cincinnati OH has the largest stock of Ford obsolete parts...and this is all they specialize in.

The only reproduced radiator support available (C2TZ16138G) is made in China, and fits: 1961/64 F100/250 2WD/4WD // 1961/66 F350/600 // 1965 F100/250 4WD // 1966 F250 4WD.

It has to be modified to work on 1965/66 F100/250 2WD's and 1966 F100 4WD's.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Uni tailgate is the same 1961/63.

No one has any NOS originals, used ones are very hard to find...but the good news is...it's been reproduced.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 1964/66 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD Styleside tailgate (C4TZ9940700A) is the same.

Originals are very hard to find used, because Ford obsoleted this tailgate in 9/1966, replaced it with the one that fits 1967 (1967/72) F100/350 Stylesides (C7TZ9940700A).

It fits and uses the same hardware to mount it, but the 1967/72 Styleside tailgate looks different than C4TZ9940700A.

The FORD letters are smaller and have a raised ovate scallop line surrounding them.

btw: Most reproduced parts are made in Asia, regardless of who sells them. The quality varies wildly...some stuff is pure junk.

I know someone's gonna chime in and say Dennis Carpenter has some of the original Ford tooling, but where is it located?

Thanks for the replies. There's no hope of finding anything here in a junkyard or barn, I'm on the east coast of Cananda and as far as I've gathered there's only one guy that's got a unibody anywhere within a few hundred miles haha! And mine came from from the U.S originally. Slim pickins for old jems in good shape here unless they're already restored. I'll check through those other companies and see what I can find. Thanks again

If you order the tail gate from NPD it will be drop shipped from Dennis Carpenter who makes them. Any vendor selling them gets them from DC.

The core supports are Oval parts out of Oklahoma. and resold by all.

Look for the best price and most vendors will bring the parts you purchase to a national or large event they are attend therefore utting out the freight.

Might try ebay, occasionally come across tail gates, I have been fairly successful obtaining parts. Can set it up to receive daily ebay email notices and narrow search to specific distance from one's area; although, I would rather see entire list of available parts and decide how far willing to travel, or pay for shipping.

Tailgate

Yea, I have been trying to find a good tailgate for 20 years. I think I have 3 or 4 in various stages of rust. The cleanest one I have it looks like the PO used it to rest a barrell on when he would dump it out the back of the truck. I wish I was at the stage of my rebuild-repair on my truck that I needed a tailgate. I am lucky I have a good coresupport and some good doors I guess.

If finding it difficult locating, might try checking with a good body man in your area to determine if able to repair close to new; if so, the cost. I have number of welding and auto body tools but not the experience. Neighbor restoring classic muscle car; happened to meet his auto body man on couple occasions and witnessed him work miracles where he opened up an enclosed component; work out dents and flaw, then weld it back together and came out looking new. If able to locate a good body man who determines it can be repaired, and for a reasonable price, may be worth it. Finding a good auto body person can be difficult.

NumberDummy I need your help...

Trying to put the final touches on this restoration that seem like it will never end. Just recvd the washer bag I ordered today and the color is red. Was Blue and Red color used for washer bags on these trucks or only blue. I seem to remember only seeing blue short bags on these things.
1966 custom cab

thx.
