Rear Cam Plug
I have a 65 F-250 With the 352 V8 and Std Tranny. I need the Plug that goes on tyhe back of the Camshaft. (In the block behind the flywheel). Can anyone tell me where I can get this part. The old one popped out and is stamped 2 3/8. I assume this to be the size. Is it correct. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks NH

If the plug popped out you should check the camshaft end play as they don't pop out for no reason . Be certain the plug you get is correct for the cam as there are core plus of the same diameter. For all the work involved I'm sure you won't want to do it a second time because of using the incorrect plug. You might also try some marine engine shops in your area.

Thats good, glad to be of help.
Be careful on the installation of the new plug as there is a correct way to install it. If the installation is done by just hammering it in you can be sure you will do the job again as it will leak or come out again.

You might want to check that they gave you the correct plug, it's not a normal "freeze" or water jacket plug, make sure they know it's the rear cam plug- and it also installs the opposite way from a freeze plug, cup to the inside, not the outside- if it looks backwards compared to the water jacket plugs, it's in correctly. Chances are the last one was installed backwards, and that's why it came out
