Question 2012 F150 vs. 2013 Silverado

I know this is jumping the gun some but I just read on Pickuptrucks.com a little on the 2013 Chevy Silverado. This will be a "total rework" and is supposed to have exclusively direct injected motors, with the possibility of a 7.0 gas motor. In this same segment they said the F150 although, majorly reworked for the current generation is not totally new and will be so for 2012. I know I read somewhere that Ford is planning on shortening the time between "updated or new models" and was just wondering if 2012 is the time for another "new truck?"

Sounds good to me. I get a new one every year so I take what they have to offer. One can spend there whole life chasing that game. Buy one now and enjoy it until something else comes out you like better.

With '11 being a super short model year for the F-150, I wouldn't expect a total rework until at least '13 - '14.

If I like the truck I am in, I keep it a good 5+ years otherwise it's traded in two years. But if I were to buy again this year and again in 2013, it would be a Ford. Dodge and Chevy have shown me nothing the last few years and I doubt if they will change much in the future. Chris

I guess its just personal preference, but the chevy and dodges are so bland. I like the way the chevy heavy duitys look, but the interior trim, seats, etc., is lame. I dont care for the new dodge body style as much as the F150s, and I havent seen the interior yet. The interior on my buddys Dodge Ram Mega Cab was beautiful, but that truck had so many problems in only his two years of ownership it made me think twice before Id even bother looking at one.

Im sticking with Ford untill someone can come along and swoon me, and so far that hasnt happened in 16 years of driving. I just dont ever see me buying anything else.

Just curious, why is '11 going to be a super short model year?

That's going to be a long a$$ time bro, my '88 is chugging like a locomotive.

I too would like to know why 2011 will be a short year?

Chevy has the ugliest trucks year in, year out. Their '03 - '06 body style was the best looking they've had recently, IMO...

And you know what they say about driving a Dodge....

It's like riding a moped.... It's fun until somebody sees you.

2011 wasn't a short year...order banks opened on 11/3/10...final production date is 11/4/11.
