I have a 1948 ford flathead straight 6 engine in a ford 8n tractor it was called a funk conversion. I'm looking for information on what the engine is. I'm trying to find a water pump for it. thanks for any help.
I don't know the 6's very well, but following Ford's quirks I'd say you have a '50 and a '48/49. The C2 suffix is a designation for running changes Ford made to the original design in 1947.
Back then, the first letter is usually the date casting started on that design and continues for several years until a significant change is made that requires a new code.
The significant detail is the H that identified the version of 6 cyl as 48-51. Prior to 48 the 6 cyl was the G model.
