Gas spraying out at pump auto-shutoff
Our Expy recently developed the most bizarre of problems. The last 3 full tank fillups at 3 different stations, when the pump automatically shut off, gas sprayed past the pump's seal boot. Not just a little, but a HUGE amount. It probably sprayed out at least 2 feet away from the truck, it was under a lot of pressure. I would have been soaked if I was standing close. I totally forgot to bring this up while at the dealer having tranny work performed. Grrrr.
Anyway, has anybody heard of this problem before? Is it a blocked vent or return line? We have had issues with mice stealing dog food and hiding it in other places in the garage, so I'm suspecting that's what's going here - a blocked vent full of dog food! The stupid animal probably stuffed an entire pound of dog food in between the hood blanket and the hood on my f150. When I popped it open to change my oil, dog food poured out of the hood for a good 10-15 seconds. It was quite comical.
Thanks for any help you guys can give!

This exact thing happened to me last night when filling my 07 EB EL up from almost empty. Man did it gush when the pumps auto shutoff happened! It was gushing and spraying out at least 2 feet from the truck. 3ft diameter puddle on the ground. Good thing i was up by the front door talking to the kids through the window..

Hmm, well, I'm sorry it happened to you to, but I don't feel so bad now. I felt like an idiot the first few times this happened. Now, I just go the the slowest fill rate the pump will allow when I get within a couple of gallons of when I think it's going to click off. That seems to solve it most of the time.
