Hey I just put in new floor pans and was debating if i should get new carpet and put it in or not... then it hit me bed liner on the interior.

Should i do this or is it a bad idea? has anyone heard of it done before and how did it work out? also if i get tired of it could i get it up?

 

i did it to mine after i put floorpans in then put carpet over it idk how hard it would be to get off though i had ran around with ony the bed linner for a few weeks held up good

 

I used bed liner on my floor. I was hoping it would turn out better than it did. I think its a good idea from a standpoint of protecting the floor. I was hoping it would have given me a bit of sound and heat insulation, but it didn't. On my list of things to do is to put down sound deadener and either carpet or rubber mat.

 

can you just put in sound deadener and carpet over bed liner?

What did you use to coat yours?


I am planning on doing both the inside and under side of the crew cab - both cab and bed!

 

I had my cab floor and back walls done in Line-X bed liner, and I think it came out pretty well. Granted, I had the entire interior sandblasted along with everything else on the truck, but I wanted to make sure it was going to stick, and we had to find all the rust to know how much of the floorpan to replace.

Anyway, here's a couple shots of the finished product (the floor, anyway.....Buford won't be on the road for a few months yet).

 

I did my entire interior of a 76 Blazer in Line-X and really like it. You can either leave it as is, which I did since I off-road it almost exclusively, or you can just cover it back over with the jute padding/carpet setup like a stock rig.

 

I also coated mine inside and underneath with Rhino Lining. I still placed carpet inside. So far I'm loving it. Only downfall with Rhino lining the cab is making sure you run a good groundwire from the cab to chassis.

 

a company called durabak make a liner in two varieties and a ton of colors. you can get smooth or textured. so you could do the whole interior if you wanted

i was plannin on rhinolinin the floors of my trucks. im wonderin how well it would work to do it over the top of some dynamat or somethin like that...

 

i dont think that would work out to well but you could do the underside of the cab (i know that it would kinda be a pain in the *** while its still on the truck)and multiple coats in the cab and that would help with sound deadening and keeping heat in/out

 

well, when i go to deadenin the truck, itll be a frame-off resto, so ill be able to paint whatever i want. lol.
