6.2L LATEST NEWS

A ford rep at an auto show was asked about the 6.2 and he said that he wouldn't buy a 5.4 because they WILL be discontinued once the 6.2 is released.

As for release date, he said that we can expect to see trucks showing up in mid March. Lastest would be end of march. I asked him about the tranny/engine issues and he said don't worry, Ford won't delay the truck any longer since the new F250 uses the same engine and they will be available shortly.

Huh?

That makes it sound like "I wouldn't buy the 5.4, you'll never get parts for it." I don't care if they stop making them tomorrow. I've been driving my Raptor for going on 5 months now and the motor's GREAT. I'm sure the 6.2 will be a ground pounder and it SHOULD be better than the 5.4, after all, it's $3k more and larger displacement.

If you see an awesome Raptor and you want it, why wait.

What's the weight difference on the 5.4s? If it's big enough, I think some mods would allow it to be competitive against a 6.2. As for parts...isn't this the essentially the same 5.4 in almost all other F150's, Expeditions, Navigators, and etc......?

Because the extra 91 horsepower is worth waiting for.

HPE 6.2L has some addition features such as Air Induction System better than 5.4L model. They have addStainless Steel Long Tube Headers. And this displacement of the engine is more with a elongation is the raptor 6.2L chasey. Thus they have created much powerful and extraloaded beast for all you peoples.
