wiring harness
I'm getting ready to install a new wiring harness on my 48 F1. I want to do it right the first time and not screw something up. Does any one have any pictures showing where the wiring goes ??? Thanks again

Do you mean where they go physically, or do you mean where they run from and go to.
I have lots of pictures.
Here's the wiring diagram for the 48:

F1 48 Ford, have you puchased the harness yet? Painless wiring is the big dog that everyone knows and has heard about, and they make a good product. I am always looking for alternatives to the "big dogs", usually to try to find a better price, and I stumbled on Ron Francis wiring. Their stuff looks good and easy, but I haven't ordered yet, so don't know for sure. Check out their website and see what you think.

Ron’s is arguably the best but it will not be the cheapest, and he is a nice guy.

Mid-Fifty has a wiring harness made especially for them by RF..a little spendy though..close to 500 bucks, as I remember..I know all the street rodders use them for wiring...good solid company..

Have a look at EZ Wire and Rebel Wire. Both are a lot cheaper and good stuff. I used EZ in my '50 and my '49. It worked out well, no problems.

I too am using EZ Wire in my 58. I have wired out just enough to get the engine running. I really like it, all wires are labeled and grouped.

I bought my wiring harness from Tyree Harris in Bumpass Va. Some friends in the Early Ford club recommended him. My problem is i'm not sure where the wires fasten on the firewall, inner fender, and the radiator support.I had taken a lot of pictures, but lost them when my computer crashed. I'd appreciate some pictures on where the harness goes. Dean

Hey Dean,
You might want to send an e-mail to Marty ("HD74") here at FTE. He is currently (or has just completed) wiring and is doing his "correct" down to the clip types.
Also, Bob Jones "bobj49f2" could probably send you some pics.
