Bear with me if this is a stupid question. I own a 2010 Ford Escape with the V-6 Flex Fuel engine. It's designed to be run on E-85 if so desired. A couple of local stations are finally selling the E-85 by me. If I choose to use the E-85 does it matter how much regular gas is in the tank already. It's extremely unlikely I would be able to run the E-85 consistently due to availability issues, so I'm just curious what the results would be. Thanks in advance.

 

Self adjusting for any mix from straight gasoline to E-85. Your results will be less mpg's.

I have an 05 Sport Trac Flex Fuel and I ran E85 when fuel prices got up to $4
I lost about 3 mpg. I do not run it now unless there is at least 50 cents per gallon difference.
Performance wise I could not tell much difference
