2006 f-250 engine block heater
hey guys, got a quick question, ive got a 06 f-250 diesel, the temp is dropping below 10 degrees tonight, and im at work, i was able to walk outside and take a quick look behind the bumper and couldnt find a plug. was just wondering if there was a way to check by vin# if my truck is equiped with the plug, or if i have the engine block heater and have to add the plug. please dont think im lazy, i work at the 911 dispatch center and dont have the time to spend outside tonight laying on the ice under my truck!!! thanks in advance

Yes you have the block heater, but like already stated, you need to buy the cord to be able to plug it in. It also needs to be routed correctly. Nothing you will be able to do tonight. However as long as you have no faulty injectors, you should be able to start it just fine in the morning.

agreed, no faulty injectors or FICM, or weak batteries and with syn 5W-40 oil you should be good to go down to at least -10 F without a block heater. Although its really painful to hear all the fuss a 6.0L PS makes when it starts cold.
