between the glass and the frame on the outside edge you can use a small screwdriver to release the clips that hold the light housing, which will slide forward.
It's not that hard guys, walk away from the computer to your truck. Turn the mirror all the towards the truck and peek in there, use a flash light for better light. Poke and pop it out, change the light and push back in. sdetweils pic is right on.
Many thanks for your help folks... I'll go out side and have a look. Another problem, all the searching for mirror part numbers only show the standard mirror, not the tow mirror. Any help with the part numbers? My problem is the amber lens is broken out and the local Ford dealer cannot find the tow mirror parts....
Someone on another forum mentioned turning the mirror not only in towards the truck but up as well. Went and did that and was able to see the clip without a flashlight. It's a big metal clip. Popped it out with a small flat head screw driver.

Bingo..I see several places that appear to be clip areas...will try to remove at a later time.. Thanks again all.
Yep...was an easy fix...luckily all that happened with mine was my wife hit something with the mirror and it caused the mirror to fold in. She noticed a day or so later that the light wasn't working on it. When I popped it off yesterday, the bottom bulb had came out of it's socket. Pushed it back in and works like new. Unbelievable how hard it was to try and find information on this. Didn't see info in the owners manual about it either.
