'66 ranger?

The ONLY way to verify if it is a true Ranger...or not, is by the BODY code, which is found on the second line of the Warranty Plate.
Rangers came with bucket seats which are identical, including the vinyl upholsery, to 1965/66 Mustangs (except GT's).
The seat tracks (same as 1965/70 Mustang) bolt to special Ranger only brackets that then bolt to the floorpan and are used to raise and level the bucket seats.
Rangers have a center console which is the same as 1964/65 Falcon Sprint. Rangers also have full carpeting and a vinyl 'drape' which covers the fuel tank.
If the drape is missing, there will be evidence it was once there, as there are 10 holes (used for the chrome screws that attached it) at the back of the cab, just below the back window.
Rangers have the sweep speedometer plastic instrument cluster that also came with the Custom Cab package on F100/250's.
Rangers came with the aluminum side mouldings that were optional on Standard & Custom Cabs.

In these tough economic times, who knows how much that will be?
If it is a Ranger, the ONLY way to verify it...is by the specific to Rangers only BODY codes.
There were three bucket seat colors available in 1965: Black all Vinyl / Palomino all Vinyl / Red all Vinyl.
And for 1966: Black Crinkle Vinyl & Black Rosette Pattern Vinyl / Parchment Crinkle Vinyl and Black Rosette Pattern Vinyl / Red Crinkle Vinyl and Red Rosette Vinyl.

One other small detail...depending on how picked over the truck is...Rangers all have the Ranger insert in the fender nameplate...the sole exception is if it is a Camper Special. As for the verification of it being a Ranger or not...Bill it totally correct...the carpeting would be a 2 piece set too with the split are about middle of the door sill plate.
For more info on the Ranger and package composition, check out my gallery I have here as all of the info is from Ford literature.
