I have had a small rear main leak for some time now.Yes,the dust cover will have oil in it and I have pulled it to find oil on the rear main area of the pan.Not coming from up top.Any ideas on how to fix this? Not pulling the motor for just a small leak.Live with it?
Can you see where it is leaking? Are you sure it is the rear main? 99% of the time the oil is from the HPOP, HPOP lines, Turbo Pedestal, CC oil out of the intercooler tubes, Exhaust Back Pressure Valve, Valve cover, or maybe even the fill tube... I would drop a hose in the valley and wash it out real good. Then let it dry and then start watching it.

Yea...sorry to say that the valley has been dry for a long time. When we changed my wheel and donuts there was not any oil present.Pedistal has been plugged.I am very sure it is the rear main.I will get Chris(F350-6) to look at it the next time we are together. The bolts are tight and I guess the silicone is not holding.Leaks more on longer(4 hour)trips.
