I've read that forever and believe it to be so. The fact that partially boxed frames sometimes crack where you stop the box. How does the metal not work harden on a stock frame over the course of a decade or two?

Georges Frame and Serial Number are for an F-250 not an F-100.

or 5 or 6... It actually does, frames that were rode hard and put up wet often show cracking. Ford's designers learned a lot from the earlier cars and military vehicles they built for WW2, and used it wisely in designing their truck frames. The frame rails are nearly straight and parallel from end to end to not produce any stress riser points, with a minimal amount of crossmembers, primarily at the ends riveted in place to be flexible. They used a single wall C section frame rail. They even mounted the engine in a triangular arrangement so the block would not resist the twisting. This spread the twist the length of the frame carrying any work hardening over the entire frame.

IFS front (coils), solid rear (leafs) of course...So I didn't get any pictures of the frame yet. I had court today and I have to go back tomorrow. It's taken longer than expected. I shall take some tomorrow time permitting or Thursday.

This is a picture of a 72 C10 frame which I fitted up to set my 56 panel on. It was from a long box chevy that I cut in half to shorten for my application. The chevs came with a coil rear suspension and the GMC's had leaf's. The opposites could have been ordered for both models as an option. If yours is on a GM frame I would be interested in the wheel size and offsets of the rims as I am finding that the C10 has a wider tracking width than the 53-56 F100's. I'm with most on here that has stated to drive the truck as is, and the GM frame will have no problems supporting that stroker. If you ever watched Trucks when Stacy Divid hosted it he put a 572 running nitrous in a stock 68 chevy c10.

It's going to be getting a make over here in the near future. I have someone building a 400 trans for me. The rear will also be 4 linked. Still on the border about the color. I will continue to drive it til it goes under the knife.

Isn't a 383 Stroker a Chevy motor?

Uh Oh! (ducking) Better put your fire suit on before saying something like that! Us formal guys that wear a bow tie with our Ford suits are somewhat tollerated around here where most bleed blue thru and thru.
