Raptor Expedition?

Who would be interested in in a Raptor Expedition? I love my Excursion and would like a vehicle to replace it some day and I think a Raptor Expedition would be it!

I think that would be a cool idea. But I also would like a full 4 door raptor aswell as a single cab one. Ford could make a whole line of Raptor trucks and SUVs.

I always said the Expedition was the badest 4WD on the planet next to the Hummer. Breeding it with the Raptor might put it in the ballpark.

Now I've got the 99 bigboy with a few minor extra's. Don't know much about the newer chopped down model's.. But they may be more stable. Not sure if they've got the ground clearance

197,500 mi. and I've put a batt and a heater core and a bunch of good oil in it... Just gettin broke in!

I really think another hot ticket would be a Ranger based dirtrod. It'd be easy pickens for the SVT guys to make an H3/Rubicon killer. The H3's gone chicom and the Rubicon's gawdawful. I'd be buying a hard core smaller rig. My Raptor's wiiiiiiide for trails.

I'd buy a shortened Expedition/Raptor as a replacement for the Bronco, especially with the 6.2. Won't happen, but it's fun to dream:-)

I have a 99 Expedition with a Lightning super charger. The coil rear suspention is awsome off road. Took it to the Silver Lake sand dunes in Michigan 0% wheel hop in the sand.

I really hope youre not talking about an H2 or H3 because they shouldn't be considered as 4x4s. (Unless we're mall crawling )

Rubicon is a smaller hardcore rig? Its so hardcore that designers dont care about anything other than offroad aka aerodynamics, mpgs, interior, noise, etc. But with that said, the rubicon is built for offroad, lockers f&r, d44's f&r, 4:1 crawl, solid front axle, coil suspension. Maybe your talking about different type of offroading than a Jeep would be good for which in that case I understand. My other ride is a 99 TJ so don't mind me defending the Jeep

Yes it would, but only if it has a removable top.

A line of "Raptor" trucks would be pretty sweet. It would probably be a waste for Ford though because as the economy turns around gas is going to start going up and these gas hogs are going to decline in popularity.

Gas hog?

What's the mileage of a regular F-150 with a lift kit and 35s? I'm just sayin'. I'm getting 15mpg mixed driving, 17 on the highway.

That's not the point. I'm not specifically calling out the Raptor. I'm saying trucks in general. When gas goes up to $4.00/gallon people tend to steer away from vehicles that require a lot of gas. So for a company to spend money and a few years developing a truck that will come onto the market just as gas hits $4/gallon is stupid.

As a long time Explorer driver, I can absolutely see the appeal to a Raptor Expedition. As with any truck, it would have terrible fuel efficiency, but that's something we all accept along with the major advantages.
However, after driving my Explorer for so long, I'm ready for a pickup. Namely, a tuxedo black Raptor with a 6.2L V8.
I'm glad to see that Ford is answering their customer's demands for a Supercrew Raptor. I'd imagine if demand grows large enough for a Raptor Expedition, they may develop one in limited numbers. Who knows, these spy shots could have been an Expedition prototype.
