I have been unable to find the compass module reset button. I find the module behind my mirror, but there is no button on it. it is completly flat. I have a 2000 expidition eddie bauer series, with trip computer and auto mirror.

I've got a 99' but, to reset mine you just press and hold the two buttons simultaniously for about 3 seconds.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Aug-02 AT 08:24 AM (EST)]What you're looking for is a hole in the sensor box behind the mirror, just the right size for an unfolded paper clip to slip into! That's the reset "button". You'll feel it trigger when you push the paper clip into it. You'll also feel it slip off the button, if you are anything less than perpendicular with the paper clip!

This will allow you to reset the compass. If you're wanting to reset the MPG display, use the information provided by charlesvalentine.

 

 

When you press that button you'll want to be in a big parking lot, facing north. You'll see "CAL" come on the display. Simply drive 3 circles counterclockwise. It'll re-calibrate itself.
