Front brake caliper removal
I have had Fords for 20 years and I have never been stumped by the brake systems. But I went to change my wife's Expeditions front pads on Saturday and could not figure out how to get the caliper off. I got the retaining clip off and figured i needed to angle the caliper in toward the engine to get it off the outside pad. But i did not want to force it too much on those rubber sliders. So after inspecting and see that the pads had about 40% left i just put everything back together.
But now they are making a terrible noise and I think I am going to just replace them anyway.
I have searched through this forum and it scares me that I cannot find anything on how to get these off. Must be that I am not seeing something very obvious or someone would have asked by now.
Thanks for all your help.
